Movement
On the move, the mind loosens. The body regulates along, thinking becomes more flexible and lively — and what's said comes more easily.
For many years I have held conversations on the move — side by side rather than opposite, sharing a stretch of the way, in the countryside close to the city. Much goes more easily outdoors than in a consulting room: therapy, coaching, consulting, supervision, sport-psychological support.
The ancient world already knew it: the walking thinkers — from Aristotle's Peripatos to Rousseau, Kierkegaard and Nietzsche, who found their thoughts on the move, not in an armchair. There is a reason.

Time in nature, especially in the forest, is demonstrably restorative: studies show less stress, more calm, and an attention that recovers.
No desk, no one opposite. Side by side, looking in the same direction, some things are easier to say.
“Mens sana in corpore sano” — a healthy mind in a healthy body. Movement, nature and conversation work together.
Practically all my conversations can take place as a Walking Talk — as psychotherapy, couples therapy, coaching, consulting and supervision, or as sport-psychological support. What works in the consulting room usually works on the way too — often more easily.
Offered for many years — first in Lucerne and surroundings, then Graubünden, for some years in Zurich, and for the last four years also in Basel-Stadt and Baselland. Other routes by arrangement.
Accepting cold, heat, rain and darkness rather than avoiding them strengthens psychological resilience and equanimity — that is part of the way. And when walking doesn't suit: likewise by video or phone.
Are you also someone who thinks better while walking?
Confidential, by e-mail or phone. We'll briefly clarify which way — and which place — suits your concern.
