Neuropsychotherapy
How the brain learns is the basis of any lasting change — scientifically grounded, not arbitrary.
Where a brain works, patterns, conflicts, pain, grief and stress arise — that is part of being human. A helpful psychotherapy strengthens your autonomy, supports learning processes and gives the ability to enjoy life room again. In the 21st century, good psychotherapy is always neuropsychotherapy too. In person, walking, by video or phone.
People who deliberately choose the private path — discretion, free choice of therapist, depth instead of a timed session grid — and who want to take their change into their own hands.
The basis is a careful integration: neuropsychotherapy combined with behavioural therapy, systemic psychotherapy, philosophical thinking and — in the background — psychodynamic understanding. Where helpful, complemented by Zen-based mindfulness from over two decades of my own practice. No off-the-shelf scheme, but tailored to you.

Behavioural therapy, systemic thinking, philosophy, psychodynamic understanding — combined as your situation calls for.
25 years of traditional Zen, embedded neuropsychotherapeutically — for inner calm where not everything can be shaped.
Life can be shaped — and life cannot be shaped. The first calls for tools, the second for equanimity. Both have a place here.
With psychological as well as physical illness, in crises of life, meaning and relationship. Often it is about depression, anxiety and panic, stress and burnout, sleep disorders, psychosomatics and pain, obsessive-compulsive disorders, addiction or eating disorders, personality and stress-related disorders.
Areas of focus include burnout and stress-related disorders, anxiety and depression, psychosomatics and pain, accompaniment through cancer, and couples themes — often alongside medical treatment and in close collaboration with other specialists.
In acute emergencies, Emergency Psychology applies — and in case of immediate danger, the emergency numbers 144 (ambulance) or 143 (the Helping Hand).
Alongside treating the concern, my focus is always on strengthening your self-efficacy: lasting psychological and psychosocial change instead of mere symptom management, the integration of health psychology and psychotherapy — and, where you seek it, personal development.
At first we let ourselves be coached together; over time you increasingly take over. The goal is that, in the end, you are enough — not the therapy.
At the core are the Walking Talks in the countryside close to the city — walking, the mind moves differently than sitting; side by side rather than opposite. Plus video, phone and, by arrangement, home visits. Early morning, during the day, over midday or in the evening.
Locations: Zurich, Basel-Stadt and Baselland, Switzerland-wide and international by arrangement. More under Walking Talks.
For self-payers. Reimbursement via a supplementary health insurance is often possible; some require a medical referral at the outset — not to be confused with the assignment under basic insurance. Brief messenger exchanges and short calls between sessions are included. All details & insurance.
Couples coaching and couples therapy — likewise walking, by video or phone. Where a couple system wants to develop, or where many conflicts have already arisen: good change is possible. To couples therapy.
