Good to know
My way of working
My approach to psychotherapy combines genuine, supportive empathy with a strong
focus on efficient, rapid help: through information about how our brain works
(psychoeducation and neuropsychoeducation), through targeted shifts in perspective —
especially in more complex systems such as partnerships and teams — and through
lasting help toward self-help, ideally so that even a few sessions can make a real
difference. This often means sessions are more frequent at first and then spaced
further apart.
Settings: walking talks, video, phone, home visits
I work in a few different settings, depending on what suits you. For many years
I have offered quiet «walking talks» in nature close to the city, in both Zurich and
Baselland, for individuals and couples — in BL usually starting from the
«Gemeindestube» on Hauptstrasse in Bottmingen up to the Bruderholz plateau and back;
in ZH along the lake or in the «Dolderwald» near the Zürichberg (meeting point:
Dolderbahn terminus). I also offer telephone and video sessions, and home visits
where needed. Even during periods abroad I am usually still reachable for telephone
appointments.
Fee and insurance
My fee is CHF 260/hour for self-paying clients. We determine the session length
together — anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours is possible.
I work exclusively with self-paying clients: you receive the invoice directly
from me and can then submit it yourself for reimbursement to any
supplementary insurance you may have — not basic insurance.
Conditions vary widely, however, and some insurers require a prior medical referral,
so please confirm the current terms that apply to you (ideally in writing).
One thing worth weighing: submitting to your insurer brings financial support,
but also means the insurer is informed of your situation, which can affect future
claims or policy changes. I am happy to talk this through with you.
