Grew up in Lucerne, at home in Zurich and Baselland. A serious, demanding and at the same time humorous conversational partner — with a broad foundation in psychology, psychotherapy, emergency and health psychology, sport and philosophy.

What carries my work is the combination of scientific neuropsychotherapy, more than two decades of Zen practice, and a clear focus: not only the problem, but your autonomy — lasting change instead of symptom management.

Career

Foundational training

One year of medical studies, University of Fribourg. Master of Science MSc, University of Zurich — psychology, psychopathology, philosophy. Clinical specialisations: behavioural therapy, psychoneuroendocrinology, psychoanalysis, systemic and anthropological psychopathology. Philosophical focuses: political philosophy, existential philosophy, scepticism, ethics, the study of mysticism. Master's thesis: The Phenomenology of Openness in Mysticism.

Psychotherapy training

Federally recognised training in ecological-systemic psychotherapy, grounded in behavioural therapy. Additional modules: CBT, behavioural medicine, psychodynamic foundations, relaxation methods (autogenic training, PMR, hypnosis), Zen-based mindfulness.

Specialisations

Emergency psychology (ZHAW, Carelink, SBAP). Health psychology. Sport psychology and sport psychotherapy. Buddhist mindfulness. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis (Prof. Bongartz, Gunther Schmidt). Progressive muscle relaxation.

Professional experience

Independent psychotherapy practice. Delegated psychotherapy in medical group practices. (V)VIP psychotherapy internationally. Lead psychologist and psychotherapist at a private clinic. Forensic experience (outpatient and in the high-security setting). Crisis intervention, including in the prison system and in a telephone crisis service. Lecturer (incl. nutrition), fitness trainer.

25 years of traditional Zen training. Qualified fitness trainer. Diving (CMAS, PADI Divemaster). Swiss wine sommelier, viticulture ZHAW, WSET Diploma in progress. Concert and political photography with publications; art and short-film projects.
